{"id":3105,"date":"2013-11-08T18:04:47","date_gmt":"2013-11-08T07:04:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sjaroundthebay.org\/?p=3105"},"modified":"2013-11-08T20:04:35","modified_gmt":"2013-11-08T09:04:35","slug":"north-shore-sydney-alliance-discernment-assembly-13th-november-2013-in-gordon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sjaroundthebay.org\/?p=3105","title":{"rendered":"North Shore Sydney Alliance Discernment Assembly &#8211; 13th November 2013 in Gordon"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"mr_social_sharing_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t<!-- Social Sharing Toolkit v2.2 --><\/div><p>Dear North Shore Sydney Alliance members,<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been a while since we last came together \u2013 for some this was at the orientation in May, for others it was at the community organising training in June\/July.<\/p>\n<p>Now is the time to all come together, in even greater numbers, to meet each other and have the conversation about what we want to do, as a community, to <b>make the North Shore an even greater place to live<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve heard stories from you about what life is like in this area, and why you care about your community. Stories of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>feeling isolated from the rest of the community, and not knowing your neighbours anymore,<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>of not being able to access vital cancer treatment services because the service has shut down in the North Shore, <\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>of people sleeping in cars in our neighbourhoods because they can\u2019t afford to live near where they work, <\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>of grandparents becoming carers for grandchildren because of cost of living pressures<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>of new migrants not knowing anyone and not being able to meet people, to learn English and to access services<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>of the homelessness which exists in many forms across the area<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>of very limited transport services if you don\u2019t live near a train line<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>and so many more!!<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On the 13<sup>th<\/sup> November from 7.30pm-9pm at Gordon Uniting Church we\u2019re gathering to make change.
